YouTube and other online video sharing and social media platforms are now part of our daily lives, but what exactly are the technologies behind them? Many of the patent applications and patents we handle relate to the encoding, compression and streaming of image and video files, particularly in connection with H.264, HEVC/H.265, VVC/H.266, MPEG DASH, AV1, EVC, VP9, JPEG, MPEG OMAF and GLTF. Our close contact with inventors means we are always up-to-date with the latest information on the respective standard. In addition to drafting applications we work closely with foreign attorneys to receive grants for patents across international jurisdictions, we are also regularly commissioned to draft claim charts, which are evaluated by the relevant standard committees.
